What is the difference between forging flange and casting flange ?

Forging flange and Casting flange are two different technologies in the process of flange manufacturing. Each technology has its own characteristics. Flange manufacturers will choose reasonably according to the characteristics of different forgings to produce high-quality flanges.

Next, we will introduce the difference between forging flange and casting flange.

Casting and forging are the production processes of flanges. The production processes of flanges are mainly divided into forging, casting, cutting and rolling.

Forging and casting are two of them. The following will tell you the difference between these two flanges :

The casting flange has accurate shape and size, small processing capacity and low cost, but there are casting defects ( pores ). Cracks. Inclusion ) ; the streamline of the internal structure of the casting is poor ( if it is a cutting part, the streamline is worse ) ; the carbon content of forging flange is generally lower than that of casting flange, and it is not easy to rust. The forging has good streamline and dense structure. The mechanical properties of tungsten steel reamer are better than those of casting. Improper forging process will also lead to large or uneven grains, hardening cracks, and forging costs are higher than casting flanges.

Forgings can withstand higher shear and tensile forces than castings.

The advantage of the casting is that it can make a more complex shape and the cost is relatively low ; the advantage of forgings is that the internal structure is uniform, and there are no harmful defects such as pores and inclusions in castings. The forging process is generally composed of the following processes, that is, selecting high-quality billet blanking, heating, forming, cooling after forging. The forging process methods include free forging, die forging and membrane forging. In the process of production, different forging methods are selected according to the size of forging quality and the number of production batches.
